The government has appointed Arun Sinha as the Chairman of the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO).

• Arun Sinha has been an advisor in NTRO for two years. He is 1984 batch Kerala cadre.
• The post had been lying vacant for over three to four months and with this, the government is also now likely to clear appointments for the heads of the border security force and the Indian Coast Guard too.
• Currently, the BSF is being looked after by the CRPF chief Thaosen. He is serving as the director general (DG) of the CRPF, the government’s largest paramilitary force.
