Andrey Rublev wins 2024 Madrid Open Men's Title

Andrey Rublev clinched the Madrid Open in three sets, defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime 4-6 7-5 7-5 in the men’s final of the Madrid Open.

Rublev, who suffered from illness during the tournament, reversed a disappointing first set in which he seemed pale and unconfident to win two sets and take his second career Masters 1000 title in impression fashion.

Rublev, who had suffered with illness during the tournament - produced a remarkable turnaround, not only in the final but had lost four consecutive matches coming into Madrid and bounced back to oust world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-final.
