Bhopal’s Mahila Police Station in Madhya Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone by becoming India’s first ISO-certified women-centric police station, certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
This recognition underscores the police station’s transformation, as it has revamped its infrastructure and improved its facilities in recent years.
The Mahila Police Station was known for its substandard conditions, including damp walls, inadequate toilets, and shabby rooms.
The ISO certification, acknowledges the high standards and quality of services provided by the police station.
The renovations at the police station included the conversion of a warehouse into a sanitized space, providing separate rooms and computers for investigative officers and staff, and installing CCTV cameras.
The station has also been designed to be “victim-friendly,” with a dedicated play area for children, more than five new toilets, and a feeding room for women.
